A Parkchester couple says they’ve been unable to buzz in guests or deliveries for months due to a broken intercom system.

Ricky Stukes, a veteran and amputee, and his wife Maria, who is also in a wheelchair, say they rely on others for help. But without a working intercom, critical deliveries, like medication, are often missed. The couple says it’s also a struggle to get home health aides and other medical professionals upstairs.

Parkchester Management tells News 12 the system is working and residents with issues should contact them. The couple says they’ve reached out multiple times with no resolution.

The couple tried to call Parkchester Management when News 12 arrived, but they were put on an indefinite hold.

Despite this couple’s struggles, they remain optimistic and say their home will always remain a happy place.
