Some Parkchester residents want the city to smooth over a patch of broken sidewalk they say poses a danger to pedestrians.
The corner of White Plains Road and Cross Bronx Service Road South has been crumbling for years, residents say.
Community activist Sydney Flores says he set up a safety cone and tied off the area with caution tape in September.
Flores says he reported the issue to 311 and was told the agency would look into the issue within 10 days. She has not yet received a response.
"All it takes is for somebody to trip over one of these blocks, over the defective sidewalk, and be under the bus and get killed," he says.
