Parks Department workers motored through cleanup duties at parks in the Bronx Tuesday in the wake of Fourth of July weekend.
They arrived at Van Cortlandt Park around 8 a.m. to pick up garbage. Across the city, officials say the Parks Department picks up around 120 tons of trash each summer day. On three-day holiday weekends, the weight is much higher.
Visitors at Van Cortlandt say they think the speed of the cleanup is impressive.
Officials say residents can help make the cleanup go smoothly by disposing of trash in proper receptacles.
