Planned Parenthood has built a telehealth system so patients can still access care during the coronavirus pandemic.
President and CEO Laura McQuade says it was built so patients could still access care for birth control, emergency contraception, STI treatment and more by video conference or by phone.
Their centers are still open for certain procedures. “For example a UTI, if you don't address it, it could turn into a bladder infection, a kidney infection...don't say ‘oh other people are experiencing something worse so I shouldn't worry about it.’ That's why Planned Parenthood is here and other providers,” said McQuade.
She says not to ignore or delay seeking help if you’re experiencing symptoms.
