2h agoOne person was killed after an accident caused their car to fall off the Major Deegan Expressway, officers say.
Police say around 4:45 a.m., a vehicle fell off the expressway near 138th Street.
Video from the scene shows the car flipped upside down on its hood on a road below the expressway. A second car could be seen smashed near the edge of the expressway.
Police tell News 12 that the first car was driving south on the expressway when it got into a collision with another vehicle, sending the first car flying off the bridge.
The FDNY says they found one person trapped inside the car and were able to get them out, but EMS say they died on arrival.
