Police say a 15-year-old student is in custody following the stabbing of a 14-year-old student at a Bronx high school. 

Police say the 14-year-old victim got into a dispute with the 15-year-old, who is also a student at Walton High School. 

They say the 15-year-old later stabbed the 14-year-old in the stomach with a scissor. 

The 14-year-old was taken to NYC Health + Hospital/Jacobi. 

Police say the 15-year-old is awaiting charges.

News 12 reached out to the Department of Education and they responded with a statement saying, “Safety is our top priority, and NYPD and EMS immediately responded to an incident on the Walton Campus today. The student is in stable condition and we will provide the school with additional safety and counseling support, as well as work closely with NYPD on their investigation.”
