Police: 2-year-old boy found wandering Wolcott street crying while mother was at Petco

Police say they arrested a mother in Wolcott who left her 2-year-old son home alone while she went to Petco and then stopped at a gas station to take pictures of her car.
Amanda Milligan, 28, was charged with risk of injury to a child.  A neighbor called 911 after finding her toddler son wandering alone, wet and crying in their front yard with two dogs.
Investigators say Milligan told them she left her son home alone because " he was fine just watching TV" and that her husband was going to be home from work soon.
Police say they contacted Milligan's husband, who told them he was expected to work the whole night at his job in New Haven.
Milligan was later released on a $1,500 bond.
Police say the Department of Children and Families was notified and is investigating.
