Police: 38-year-old shot outside Devoe Park

A 38-year-old man was shot outside of a Kingsbridge Heights park, according to police.

A 38-year-old man was shot outside of a Kingsbridge Heights park, according to police.
News 12 is told the 38-year-old was in Devoe Park when he was approached by the gunman. 

Police say it happened around 8 p.m. Sunday. They say an unknown man shot the victim in the arm in front of the park along Father Zieser Place before running off.
The suspect was last seen wearing a red sweater. The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Authorities are working to determine a motive behind the shooting.
Residents in the area say there's always a patrol car inside the park and incidents like this one are rare.

The suspect is believed to be between his 20s and 30s.
