A massive fire in Concourse Village resulted in the death of four people Tuesday night, according to police.
Officials say the fire rose to a third-alarm fairly quickly which warranted a massive response from the FDNY.
More than 30 units and more than 140 members of the FDNY reported to the scene. Officials say the fire originated in a top floor apartment of the six-story building.
The FDNY transported the victims to Bronx Care Hospital, located right across the street from the building that went up in flames.
The fire broke out just before 7:30 p.m forcing the building to evacuate.
The Red Cross is helping those displaced due to the fire. News 12 is told the massive building has more than 100 units.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
