Surveillance video obtained exclusively by News 12 shows the moments a 43-year-old woman on a motorized scooter was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene.
Officers say the accident took place on Lexington Avenue just past the corner of Throop Avenue in Bed Stuy around 2 a.m. In surveillance footage, the driver is seen coming through the intersection and moments later hitting the woman who was riding a scooter.
The woman was rushed to the hospital but didn't survive, police say.
Police are still searching for the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-800-577-TIPS.
