A hit-and-run in the Bronx left a man dead early this morning.

According to police, the 51-year-old victim was struck crossing the intersection of Prospect Avenue and East Tremont Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

First responders rushed the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the 51-year-old man has not been released yet.

As for the person behind the wheel, authorities are still working on a description of the vehicle.
