Police arrested a man Wednesday in connection to a deadly stabbing inside a Fordham apartment building.

Authorities say 31-year-old Gregory Hightower is now in custody and facing murder charges.

The arrest came hours after police released surveillance video of the suspect they were looking for.

Police say Hightower followed 61-year-old Tyrone Padilla on Jan. 5 into his apartment building on Creston Avenue. As Padilla attempted to run, Hightower hunted him down then proceeded to stab him in the neck and armpit before running away.

News of an arrest came on the same night Padilla's family said their final goodbyes during wake services. Padilla will be laid to rest in Puerto Rico.
