A Brooklyn man has been arrested and charged after police say he caused a deadly crash in Brownsville and fled the scene.

According to the NYPD, 32-year-old Tyree Epps was driving a black Mercedes when he collided with a school bus at Blake Avenue and Van Sinderen Avenue around 1:17 p.m. Thursday.

A 24-year-old female passenger in his car was critically injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver, a 24-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kings County Hospital. There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

Witnesses reported seeing Epps run from the crash. Police took him into custody Friday and charged him with manslaughter in the second degree, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, and speeding.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. This case remains under investigation.
