A 50-year-old woman was found dead at her Morris Heights apartment Saturday night.

Officials say she was found unconscious after a 911 call brought police to the building located at 38 Featherbed Lane around 9:30 p.m.

The woman was identified as Susan Longton.

Police say Longton had trauma to her head and her body. She was declared dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of her death.

An officer remained at the building as of Monday afternoon while the investigation is ongoing.
