Police investigating April death of 48-year-old woman in Crotona Park as homicide

Police launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead last month in her Crotona Park home.
News 12 was told a 911 call on April 14 led police to discover 48-year-old Yaya Kouyate lying unconscious face up on her bathroom floor with obvious signs of trauma to her neck.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner deemed the death a homicide and no arrests have been made.
