The man caught on camera assaulting and robbing a 91-year-old on camera in Midwood has been arrested, police announced Wednesday.
The
robbery happened around 6:25 a.m. Monday, when the suspect, 45-year-old Raymond Silva, allegedly approached the victim sitting on a stoop near East 14th Street and Avenue I and demanded his money.
The victim gave up $4, which led to Silva demanding more money and hitting the man on the head with a cane, police say. The victim defended himself with his own cane.
Silva, a Brooklyn resident, was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a stolen property, police say.
The victim suffered head pain and a laceration above the eye. He was taken to Community Hospital in stable condition by Hatzoloh.
