Police: Man faces multiple charges for shooting of child in the Bronx
The child was shot in the thigh Tuesday evening while getting off a school bus on Beekman Avenue in Mott Haven.

Police say a man is facing multiple charges including attempted murder for shooting an 8-year-old boy.
They say the man arrested was Manhattan’s Joshua Brooks. The child was shot in the thigh Tuesday evening while getting off a school bus on Beekman Avenue in Mott Haven.
"Gentlemen started running,” said witness Alejandrina Brioso. “They just shot each other, and the baby got caught in the middle and then everybody dissipated and dogged.”
The child is in stable condition. Police added Brooks had no relationship to the child.
A second person was also taken into police custody.
