A man was found dead in Mott Haven after an apparent hit-and-run accident, police say.

A man was found dead in Mott Haven Saturday after an apparent hit-and-run accident, police say.
Officials say they responded to a 911 call around 11 p.m. about an unconscious man in the road at East 140th Street and Bruckner Boulevard.
They say they found the man lying in the westbound lane of the Bruckner Boulevard service road with trauma to his body and head.
EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The speed limit on the road is 30 mph and there are multiple crosswalks.
It is unknown if the driver of the car was speeding or if the victim was in the crosswalk.
Police believe the incident was a hit-and-run after their preliminary investigation.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
