Police say a man was found dead with multiple stab wounds at a home in Brighton Beach.

They say the 41-year-old victim was found inside of a home on Brighton Third Street shortly before 7:45 a.m. Sunday.

Police were seen dusting cars for fingerprints on the street outside as they worked to investigate. 

It's unclear if they have identified any suspects in the case.

A community activist who works at a nearby bodega tells News 12 that the incident is frightening.

"It's very scary because you know, we're here as essential workers, we're here to support New Yorkers, and to hear something like this break out really is scary," says Nasim Almuntaser. "And the person needs to be found ASAP because in terms of us being open, it creates anxiety in terms of -- is this person still roaming around?" 

Police say the medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
