Police are now charging the man they say killed his estranged wife in Throgs Neck by running her over with a car and slashing her with a machete.
Officials say Victor Mateo has been charged with murder, manslaughter, acting in a manner to injure a child, as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say the 63-year-old man ran over Noelia Mateo with a car on Ellsworth Avenue before jumping out and attacking her with a machete.
Police say Mateo was getting into her car when her husband sideswiped her and struck her. Police say the man then hit another car, got into Mateo's car and backed over her.
Police say Mateo was lying face up on the sidewalk and had injuries to her face and body.
