On Monday evening, two men, one of whom posed as a UPS delivery person, robbed an apartment in Morris Heights
where an older couple was with their grandkids, police
say.
According to police, the individual
who went to the door stated he was UPS, wearing
a brown winter hat with “UPS” letters across the front. The individual shoved
the 60-year-old female when she answered the door, and revealed he had a
firearm inside the fake UPS package.
Police say the two men held
the elderly couple and their grandkids at gunpoint and demanded they zip tie themselves, while the two suspects removed
electronics, personal documents, a safe and even a children’s piggy bank. The
safe and piggy bank combined had over $7,500 in cash.
They were seen on surveillance fleeing from the apartment, and the four victims were not hurt.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
