Police say a man was stabbed multiple times in the back at the Soundview Houses Thursday.

They say the 32-year-old victim was stabbed three times in the back at an outdoor area of the Soundview Houses around 3:30 p.m. First responders rushed the victim to Jacobi Hospital and he's expected to recover.

Police tell News 12 he's not cooperating in the investigation at this time. Neighbors say incidents like the stabbing aren't unusual for the area.

Police say they recovered a knife at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
