A woman is recovering at the hospital after a man attacked and attempted to sexually assault her Sunday.
The victim says she was inside Shoelace Park on Bronx River Parkway around 3 a.m. when she was attacked and stabbed.
According to police, the man approached the 29-year-old woman and stabbed her multiple times on her body and then attempted to sexually assault her before he ran off.
The victim tells polices she does not know her attacker.
News 12 is told the victim is currently being treated at the hospital.
Residents in the area tell News 12 a major issue with the park is how dark it is. Making it a safety concern among neighbors.
Authorities are advising residents to be on alert.
