Police are searching for a man who they believe tried to rape an elderly woman in the Bronx.
Authorities say the alleged attack occurred on Sept. 21. According to the victim's brother, a man coerced his 82-year-old sister inside and followed her up to her home.
Police say the suspect threw the elderly victim to the ground, forcibly removed her clothes and attempted to sexually assault her.
The incident has infuriated community members, with the crime happening feet away from a day care center near Courtlandt Avenue and East 150th Street.
Community member Marty Rogers attended the 40th Precinct's council meeting Wednesday night. He says if the crime happened outside of the South Bronx, the suspect would have been caught already.
