Police: No arrests yet in homicide involving 5-year-old twins in Mount Hope

Following the deaths, police said their father was cooperating with officers. The mother had to be hospitalized for emotional distress.

Five days have passed since officials deemed the death of 5-year-old twins in Mount Hope a homicide, and no arrests have yet been made.
The medical examiner determined that 5-year-olds George and Gianna Kantanka were smothered by someone on Dec. 18 inside an apartment at 240 E. 175th St.
Following the deaths, police said their father was cooperating with officers. The mother had to be hospitalized for emotional distress.
