An NYPD sergeant was dragged by a car early this morning while attempting to pull a driver over in Brooklyn.
Police say that at 3:51 a.m., two officers responded to a dispute on Bedford Avenue and Snyder Avenue. A witness told the officers that a male in a black Hyundai sedan pointed a firearm at them.
The officers attempted to do a car stop but the car attempted to drive away. The sergeant, who had his firearm out, got his arm caught in the windshield and was briefly dragged. The force of the drag made the sergeant accidentally discharge his firearm at the ground, the NYPD says.
The sergeant was taken to an area hospital where he was evaluated for a shoulder injury.
No arrests have been made.
