Police are asking for the public’s help identifying four men accused of brutally stabbing a 26-year-old man earlier this month, leaving him hospitalized.
Police tell News 12 that the attack happened on Nov. 1 around 6:30 p.m. near 2138 Bartow Ave. - just steps from the busy Bay Plaza shopping center. According to investigators, the group of men confronted the victim, and an argument quickly escalated. Police say the men stabbed the victim both the stomach and back before kicking and punching him and eventually taking off on foot from the scene.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Authorities released surveillance images of the four suspects and are urging residents to take a close look.
Neighbors in the area say the violence is unsettling and unusual for the community.
“It’s very shocking… you don’t see that in this neighborhood,” said local resident Izzy Maldonado. “It makes me feel a little uneasy. I hope whoever did it gets caught.”
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the men to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
