Police shut down another shop in the Bronx for selling illegal cannabis

This is the fourth shut down in the Bronx in the last three weeks as Operation Padlock to Protect is in full effect.

The Sheriff’s Office says a Fieldston smoke shop is the latest to be shut down as city and state authorities continue to crack down on illegal cannabis sales.
Police were dispatched to the shop located on 5987 Broadway and removed multiple bags of products from the store. The Office of Cannabis Management confirms the shop was shut down for selling illegal cannabis. This is the fourth shut down in the Bronx in the last three weeks as Operation Padlock to Protect is in full effect.
The Sheriff’s Office told News 12 the smoke shop was fined $83,000 in civil penalties for the seizure of illegal products, including untaxed cigarettes, other tobacco products, flavored vape products, THC vape products, cannabis flower, THC pre-rolls and THC edibles.
Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams announced earlier this week more than 1,000 illegal cannabis shops have been busted across New York state.
Officials say more than $11 million worth of illicit cannabis products were seized in the Bronx.
