An NYPD spokesperson tells News 12 that NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea and First Deputy Commissioner Benjamin B. Tucker are set to retire. 
The NYPD told News 12 in a statement, “As was widely known, Police Commissioner Shea and First Deputy Commissioner Tucker will finish their full term and retire at the end of the year. Administratively, the Police Commissioner is required to give 30-days notice, and that’s what happened today. Police Commissioner Shea and First Deputy Commissioner Tucker will have a lot more to say in the coming weeks as they discuss their public service and gratitude to the City and the men and women of the Department.”
