Police say a man armed with a knife was shot and killed by an officer over the weekend in the Bronx.

Police responded to complaints of a robbery at a Throgs Neck convenience store at 3508 East Tremont Ave.

Police say the suspect had been walking back and forth in the convenience store stealing items for about 20 minutes before he went behind the register.

When officers confronted the suspect, they say he charged at them with a kitchen knife and that's when one officer shot him once in the torso.

Police say the Bronx man was transported to the hospital but died upon arrival. The entire incident was captured by officer-worn body cameras.
