Police say a 53-year-old Bronx woman was caught hiding inside a Yorktown store and plotting to pull a midnight merchandise heist.
Police say Irene Trujillo was hiding in the Macy's at the Jefferson Valley Mall when an alarm was activated around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Store personnel responded, saw a female and contacted police.
Authorities arrived at the store and arrested Trujillo. They say she had some items that led them to believe she was going to commit a crime within the store.
Trujillo has been charged with third-degree burglary. She was taken to Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail.
The suspect is scheduled to appear Thursday evening in Yorktown court.
