A traumatizing experience for a woman walking her dog last week ended in an arrest, according to police.
Police say the incident happened last Thursday just before 5 p.m. on Lurting Avenue. They say a 22-year-old man, now identified as Taifere Reed, came up behind a 59-year-old woman, put her in a hold, grabbed her neck and got her to the ground.
That's when police say Reed forced open her legs and exposed himself. According to the criminal complaint, Reed told police, "I just wanted to kiss her. My penis just fell out of my pants."
He says another man came out with a gun and stopped him, according to police. Police say they caught Reed a block away and that he was arrested.
Reed has been charged with attempted rape, unlawful imprisonment, assault, public lewdness and sexual assault.
Neighbors tell News 12 mostly everyone on the block knows one another and that it's a place where people aren't afraid to be alone.
