UPDATE: The winning numbers for Wednesday are: 2, 11, 22, 35 and 60. The Powerball is 23.
A total of nine third prize lottery tickets were sold in New York for the Powerball drawing on Monday, including two in the city. The third-place tickets are worth $50,000, but the big winner is still up for grabs and is now worth $1.2 billion.
It was all tricks and no treats from Halloween's Powerball drawing when none of the tickets sold matched all six numbers for the big jackpot.
The lack of a winner on Monday means whoever wins tonight’s drawing will get that massive $1.2 billion prize.
Whoever wins will get to decide if they want their money upfront in cash, which they'll get a lesser amount but it still comes out to more than $596 million, or the full payment spread out over 29 years.
The increased jackpot will be the 4th-largest in U.S. history. The biggest prize was a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won by three ticketholders in 2016.
One third prize ticket was sold at Universal Candy and Grocery on Westchester Avenue in the Bronx. Another was sold in Brooklyn, plus two in Manhattan.
