A pregnant woman almost fell into a sinkhole at East 134th Street and Alexander Avenue on Tuesday.

Rhaiza Padilla said she was walking down Alexander Avenue on her way home from work around 6 p.m. when a neighbor warned her to watch out, just before she reached the sinkhole.

“We have a lot of kids in the neighborhood” she said. “Sometimes they’re playing outside, especially when the day is nice like today, and anything can happen.”

Padilla said she called 311 right away and hopes the city fixes the sinkhole before someone gets hurt.
