New Yorkers are hitting the road and skies for Memorial Day weekend - so prepare for traffic and long lines at airports.
AAA expects this to be the busiest travel weekend in five years. More than 43 million people are expected to travel to observe the holiday.
The agency says New York City is a top destination for travelers this year.
"It's no secret that the roads are always busy in New York, and I think they'll be especially busy during these peak travel times, whether it's Friday afternoon when travelers are mixing with regular commuters or most of the afternoon and early evening on Sunday and Monday when folks are coming back from trips,” said Alec Slatky, spokesperson for AAA.
AAA says the busiest time on the roads will be Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon.
