Throughout the morning, rallies are scheduled for outside Gov. Andrew Cuomo's midtown office calling for him to be impeached immediately. This, as he faces mounting pressure to resign from across the nation.
President Joe Biden topping the growing list of those calling for the governor to step down. Added to that list, the governors of New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
On Tuesday, they issued a joint statement saying, "We are appalled at the findings of the independent investigation by the New York attorney general. Gov. Cuomo should resign from office."
This all comes after Attorney General Letitia James released findings of a nearly five-month civil probe which investigators say uncovered a pattern of non-consensual kissing, groping and repeated comments of a sexual or gender-based nature.
Cuomo remained defiant, saying in a taped response to the findings that “the facts are much different than what has been portrayed" and that he “never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances.
Attorney General James reiterated this was a civil investigation, but says prosecutors and police can take further action if they see fit.
The Albany district attorney requested investigative materials used in the attorney general's probe and asked any victim to contact his office.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the New York State Legislature to see if they'll move forward with impeachment. If the state Assembly votes in favor of impeachment, Gov. Cuomo would immediately be suspended, and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul would take over while the process continues with a trial in the state Senate.
The governor maintains he's not going anywhere, but that decision could soon be out of his hands.
