President Donald Trump will be in New York on Thursday, Sept. 11 and is scheduled to attend the Yankees vs. Tigers game, according to the White House and the New York Yankees.

President Trump's plans to travel to NYC have not changed despite the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot at an event on a Utah college campus Wednesday.

According to his official schedule, the president is expected to attend a memorial event at the Pentagon before coming to The Bronx.

The New York Yankees released a statement about security measures at Yankee Stadium:

"Ticketed guests are strongly urged to arrive as early as possible and should budget extra time for entry due to enhanced security measures at all Yankee Stadium gates and entrances. Given anticipated street closures (for vehicles and pedestrians) and limited parking in the area around Yankee Stadium, guests should use mass transportation if at all possible."

The Yankees also released important notes for fans planning to attend the game:

  • Stadium gates will open to ticketed fans at 4 p.m. (three hours before the scheduled first pitch time of 7:05 p.m.). Guests are encouraged to arrive as close to 4 p.m. as possible to expedite entry.

  • Bags will NOT be allowed in Yankee Stadium with the exception of one “clutch-type” bag per guest. The maximum size of a clutch bag is 4.5” x 6.5”.

  • Guests should make every effort to restrict personal items to an absolute minimum. Any such items should be able to fit in a pocket.

  • All bags, personal items and their contents will be inspected before being permitted into Yankee Stadium.

  • There is NO storage area at Yankee Stadium for prohibited items.

  • Bottles, cans and liquids will NOT be permitted in Yankee Stadium. Restricted items include empty, reusable water bottles.

  • Laptops and tablets will NOT be permitted in Yankee Stadium.

  • Guests should expect that typically accessible areas inside and outside Yankee Stadium may become restricted spaces before, during or after the game.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed when hijackers crashed jetliners into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in southwest Pennsylvania during the Sept. 11 attacks. More than 2,700 of those victims perished in the fiery collapse of the trade center’s Twin Towers.
