Volunteers of the Jewish faith gave food to Bronx residents in need ahead of the Passover holiday.
The organizations Project Hope and the Met Council teamed up to hold the giveaway Sunday at the Bronx Jewish Council on Holland Avenue.
"The biggest thing we're doing right now is making sure we're having enough food because people are going to the stores, and people are seeing that their dollar is going less far and they're relying on supplemental resources, like food distributed here today,” says Jessica Chait, director of Food Programs at the Met Council.
The Met Council says many other Jewish affiliated organizations throughout the city also distributed food this weekend and will continue to do so as they observe Passover.
