New Yorkers impacted by the pandemic who are worried about getting evicted can now get some help.
Project Parachute was started to provide rental assistance, eviction prevention and financial services.
Organizers say they work with the most vulnerable, including undocumented immigrants, who wouldn't qualify for state or federal help.
Community-based partners joined with the Real Estate Board of New York, Enterprise Community Partners and the mayor's fund to advance New York City to kick start the program, which has raised more than $11 million to help out those in need.
Project Parachute distributed 32% of funds to the Bronx and 27% to Brooklyn.
Residents seeking help can call 311 and ask them about resources available to prevent eviction. They can also connect with project parachute
