The Prospect Lefferts Gardens community is pausing in remembrance of the mass shooting that left multiple people injured and one person dead a year ago.
Residents say the shooting that claimed the life of 23-year-old Theodore Senior serves as a reminder to the community that there is still much work to do to get the guns off city streets.
Earlier, the community, elected officials, clergy members and anti-gun violence activists marched in honor of the shooting that police say was gang-related.
Many are demanding solutions to put an end to gun violence once and for all while remembering the incident that claimed yet another life.
Senior's mother and family members are sending a message to all to put the guns down, saying senseless gun violence rips families apart.
