The Brooklyn Nets hit the court at Barclays Center but once again without Kyrie Irving.

Protestors rallied outside in support for Irving who is still unable to play at any home games due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Protesters on Friday went as far as ripping up official Nets game tickets and pictures of Mayor Eric Adams. 

Kyrie Irving has not gotten vaccinated against COVID-19, and due to the city’s workplace vaccine mandate, is not allowed to play in the city, but is allowed to attend as a spectator. 

Protesters say it is a great loss for the game and demand that Irving be allowed to play. 

While vaccine mandates were lifted for those to enjoy indoor entertainment and sporting events, the policy for workers is still active in the city.

Irving could potentially lose out on playing eight of the 11 games of the season as the Nets have seven at home and one across the river at MSG.
