A memorial in West Farms took a deadly turn when four people were shot, one fatally, Wednesday night, police say.
Residents say the people who were shot were there to pay their respects to 26-year-old gun violence victim Carlos Gonzales, who was shot at the same corner Monday.
Police say they arrived to East Tremont Avenue and Southern Boulevard at around 6:30 p.m. and found four people shot. A 28-year-old man who was shot in the chest later died at the hospital. The three other men, ages 27, 46, and 25, were all taken to the hospital in stable condition.
It is still unclear if the two shootings are related. The shooters for both incidents are still on the loose as police continue their investigation.
