Rep. Nydia Velazquez said Monday she has been diagnosed with “presumed coronavirus infection."
In a statement released on Twitter by the congresswoman, she says she started to feel sick in the “wee hours of Sunday morning.”
She says that she spoke with a physician on the phone about her symptoms. Velazquez says she will continue to work remotely and will monitor her symptoms at home.
The 67-year-old representative was on the House floor on Friday, when dozens of members of Congress went to Washington, D.C. to vote on the stimulus package.
