The family of a deli worker shot to death in the Bronx after a suspect grabbed a police officer's gun and fired over 15 shots is suing the city for $20 million, according to published reports.
According to investigators, 30-year-old Efrain Guzman was fighting with deli workers in August when Wali Camara, 49, and a police officer attempted to break up the fight.
They say that's when Guzman grabbed the officer's gun and began firing. Police say he fatally struck Camara.
Guzman was charged with 19 counts, including two counts of attempted murder on a police officer.
Since the incident, NYPD officers have upgraded holsters, making them more difficult to grab weapons from.
