A new report says the city's subway system is in desperate need of structural and architectural repairs.
According to a study from state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, only 51 of the system's 468 stations don't require fixes to the stairs, columns, platform edges and lighting.
DiNapoli says repairs must be sped up, especially when it comes to damaged stairs and platform edges because they could pose risks for riders. However, the MTA argues that none of its stations are unsafe.
The report was based on the most recent data available, which is a 2012 survey conducted by NYC Transit.
