Residents in Morrisania say they are having problems crossing their streets and keeping their families safe because of the obstructive parking.
Residents are calling out FDNY Ladder 19 employees for not keeping them safe and they say they’re not talking about emergency calls.
They are calling out fire station employees for blocking crosswalks and sidewalks with their personal vehicles.
They say it’s a struggle to navigate through a blocked crosswalk, especially if you have a stroller or a wheelchair.
Residents say multiple calls to 311 have gone unanswered. They even say they’ve asked members of Ladder 19 to move, but the vehicles remain.
News 12 asked the FDNY about the parked vehicles, they responded saying, “The concerns are being addressed by the department.”
Residents say they simply want to co-exist and they ask Ladder 19 to be considerate.
