Residents honored the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a memorial outside of James Madison High School in Brooklyn.
Ginsburg graduated from the Midwood high school in 1950.
Members of the community placed candles, flowers, posters and a toy replica of the Supreme Court Justice on the steps of the school.
Residents say Ginsburg worked hard to provide equal rights for others.
"We've always admired her as a titan of civil liberties that she is and I think just after a moment where we lose someone, we have to come over and pay respects in some sort of way," says Yates Wong.
Other members of the community say the memorial is just another example of the impact that Ginsburg had in the city.
