Kingsbridge residents say they no longer feel safe in their homes after numerous bricks came crashing down from their building on Monday morning.

Scaffolding is now covering the entryway at 2663 Heath Ave. Ida Corporan, a resident on the building’s 10th floor for over 40 years was there when it started.

“I ran out because I said, ‘What if the whole building comes down?’”, said Corporan. “Where am I going to be, under the bricks?”

Residents are now being asked to use the back entrance to exit and enter the building – which some residents say is unsafe after dark.

The New York City Housing Authority says that technical staff is now evaluating the condition of the building and urging residents to avoid the surrounding area.
