A 46-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while walking down the street in the Bronx.
It happened on Croes Avenue and East 172nd Street on Dec. 8.
Police say the suspect approached the victim, grabbed her chest and rear, then pulled down her pants and touched her privates before running away.
Residents who knew of the crime say similar incidents have happened in the past, and they believe the same person might be responsible.
However, police say since prior incidents were not reported by victims, they are not tying the crimes together as a pattern.
Instead, police say they want this particular suspect off the street.
They describe the man as Hispanic, 5' to 5'5" and 130 lbs. He was wearing a green knit cap with white stripes and dark clothing.
The woman was not injured.
Anyone with information in regard to the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
