Riverdale residents came out in large numbers Tuesday night to share their concerns regarding a report submitted to the city's Department of Transportation that may change two major roads.
The report was done by the North Riverdale Merchant and Business Association, and it was submitted this summer.
It suggests changes to both Riverdale and Moshulu avenues, with goals being safety, environmental quality, and business improvement.
The plan includes 23 ideas for beautification and 13 suggestions for immediate improvements.  Some suggestions are as simple as more garbage cans, public art, or green infrastructure.
However, the more concise ideas like a lane reduction on Riverdale Avenue and parking lanes concern some members of the community.
Complaints and suggestions will be taken into consideration by the merchants association, but any final decision will be made by the DOT.
